Amy Dickinson

PORTAGEVILLE, Mo. ? Amy Marie Dickinson (Simpson) was born on Oct. 24, 1978, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to Johnny Simpson and Gean ?Geanie? Rone Simpson. She passed away on June 27, 2022, at Cape Girardeau, Missouri, at the age of 43 years, 8 months and 3 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She was united in marriage to her husband, David Dickinson, who survives of the home. They were married on Aug. 6, 2016, at the First United Methodist Church in Portageville.

She graduated from Southwest Missouri State University with a bachelor?s degree in Sports Business Management and received a Master?s degree in Business Education from Southeast Missouri State University. After finishing her first year back in the classroom at Caruthersville High School as a business teacher, she was extremely excited to start her next journey at the Sikeston Career Technology Center as a bridge teacher in business education between SCTC and Sikeston High School.

Amy showed her love for family and friends with her huge smile, resounding laugh and quick wit. She was blessed to marry the love of her life, David, just six short years ago. Together, they enjoyed time at the lake with family, camping around Norfork Lake (but in the most comfortable way possible per Amy?s insistence), and raising (and spoiling) her fur babies ? Tebow, Allie and Jesus. She loved cheering on her beloved Florida Gators, even incorporating the ever-so-subtle orange and royal blue into her wedding decor. Amy?s strong will and caring spirit will be greatly missed by a host of family and friends alike.

She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, David Dickinson; her two twin stepdaughters, Madison and Averie Dickinson both of Jonesboro, Illinois; one sister, Jessica (Joseph) Hawkins of Malden, Missouri; an adopted brother, Kyle (Shara) Tatam of Perth, Australia; and scores of people who were lucky enough to know her.

Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2022 at DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2022, at Portageville First United Methodist Church.

Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.

Please send online condolences to the family at delislefuneralhome.net.
