I’m a wedding planner & brides say my tip is super controversial – it’s a must
YOUR wedding day is perhaps the most important, memorable day of your life.
It is one of the only times when all of your friends and family will come together to celebrate the love between you and your partner.
A wedding planner named Britt Labbe, who goes by @itsbrittanylabbe on TikTok, has had years of experience planning sentimental moments for brides and grooms.
She recently revealed a piece of advice that she always gives to couples—which is often met with controversy.
“I think everyone should do a first look,” she said.
A first look means before the ceremony begins, a bride will do her big reveal to her groom away from everyone except for the photographers.

This means the couple will do most of their portrait shots before they say, “I do”—and it may be moments before or days before.
“I know what my traditional brides are going to say. They want the first time that their groom sees them to be when they’re walking down the aisle in their wedding dress.”
Britt assured her viewers, however, that the two moments are totally different and both equally special and unique.
“I have seen grooms do first look and not even shed a tear, but when their bride walks down the aisle, they lose it.”
She added that doing a first look saves so much time on your big day because you get the photos out of the way, which often take 30 minutes to an hour.
“Especially if you’re getting married in the winter months where the sun sets earlier,” she added.
“It really saves you so much time on the day of to make sure you get all the photos and make sure you have enough time with your significant other, just you two.”
